Executive Director

 

Cheryl Roberts is a seasoned Executive Director, bringing 15 years of experience in the senior living industry to Discovery Commons Wildewood.  With an extensive back ground leading teams in assisted living and memory care communities, Cheryl has consistently prioritized quality care and customer satisfaction.  Her passion for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is evident in her team-focused leadership style, emphasizing in collaboration and the well-being of the residents and their families.
 
A graduate of Walden University, Cheryl began her journey in senior living as an Executive Director.  A Virginia native, she has traveled extensively and currently resides in Waldorf, MD with her husband, three kids, and four grandchildren.  Beyond her professional dedication, Cheryl finds joy in spending time with family, shopping, watching old movies and reading.  Excited about the opportunity at Discovery Commons Wildewood, Cheryl is committed to providing exceptional care and services, ensuring residents experience the highest quality of life while fostering a supportive and welcoming community.

Shana Smith is a 20-year veteran of the healthcare industry whose experience includes 12 years as a senior lifestyle and care advisor. A proud graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Shana earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English Lit with a minor in Sociology. During that time, she also began her career journey, paying her way through college by working as a Medication Technician and Caregiver.

 

Originally from Cheverly, Maryland, Shana graduated from La Plata High School and throughout her professional career, has worked alongside seniors and families at the local, regional, and national levels, fulfilling advisory duties in all aspects of senior living and care. Outside of work, Shana is happily married and enjoys volunteer work and spending off times with her three dogs, Bella, Brewster, and Buddy.
